Can I install Magento 2 on Windows?
Not directly: Magento needs Linux. On Windows, the guide installs Ubuntu inside WSL 2 and runs Magento there, or you can choose Docker.
What are Magento access keys?
Composer downloads Magento from repo.magento.com, which needs a free pair of keys from your account on commercemarketplace.adobe.com, under My Profile, Access Keys. The public key is the user name and the private key is the password.
Is the script safe to run?
It only uses official package sources and the commands from Adobe documentation, but read it before you run it, as you would any script. It stops at the first error so you can fix the problem and continue.
Why is two-factor authentication turned off for local installs?
A local machine usually cannot send the setup email that two-factor authentication needs. The server guide leaves it on, and you should never turn it off on a live store.
Where do the version numbers come from?
