Questions
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The invoice is made in your browser, and your business details are saved only in this browser on this device.
When does the invoice show IGST instead of CGST and SGST?
When your state and the place of supply are different. The tool compares the state in your GSTIN (or the one you choose) with the customer’s place of supply.
What must a GST tax invoice include?
Among other things: your name, address and GSTIN, a unique invoice number of up to 16 characters, the date, the customer’s details (and GSTIN if registered), the place of supply, HSN or SAC codes, quantities, taxable value, tax rate and amount, and a signature. Check the current rules on the CBIC website for your business.
Does it check GSTINs?
Yes. It checks the length, the format, the state code and the check character, which catches most typos. It does not look the GSTIN up on the GST portal.
