How to use it
Pick what you want to do, such as image generation, then narrow the list by company, type, price or features. Tick Compare on up to four models to see their details side by side. Chat and code models and open-weight models update automatically; prices for closed image, video and speech models are checked by hand, with the date shown under the list.
Questions
Where does the data come from?
Chat and code models come from OpenRouter’s public model list, with its current prices per million tokens. Open-weight image, video and audio models come from Hugging Face: trending models from the official accounts of their publishers. Closed image, video and audio models come from each provider’s pricing page, checked by hand.
What does open weights mean?
The model files are published, so you can download the model and run it on your own computer or server. Check its licence first: some allow commercial use, others are for research or personal use only.
Why do some prices say “via Runway API”?
Some companies sell their models mainly through other platforms. Where a provider does not publish its own per-unit price, the tool shows the price on the Runway API and says so.
Which model should I use?
It depends on the job, your budget and whether your data may leave your servers. Shortlist a few here, then try them on a real task. If you want help choosing or building an AI feature into your store or product, get in touch.
