The problem
The business had outgrown WooCommerce and was moving to Magento 2. Customer accounts, past orders and the catalog all had to come across intact; losing order history or making customers register again was not an option.
What I did
- Mapped WooCommerce data to Magento’s structure: simple and variable products to simple and configurable products, categories, customers and their addresses, and orders with their items and statuses.
- Wrote dedicated migration scripts rather than relying on a generic import, so every field was handled on purpose and the migration could be run again.
- Checked the migrated data against the source before the switch.
The result
The store moved to Magento with all its customers, products, categories and order history intact.
